Guillermo Quetell, M.D., opened a private plastic surgery practice in the Physician's Building at Community General Hospital in May of 2004.
Dr. Quetell completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the combined program of New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell's & Columbia's medical centers). He also trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, which performs more breast reconstruction than any hospital in the Eastern United States.
Dr. Quetell also completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and a general surgery residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
While in military service, he was a surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, the largest overseas U. S. medical facility. Dr. Quetell was also director of Landstuhl's Burn Response Team.
Dr. Quetell, who completed medical school at Upstate in 1989, has returned to Central New York to teach and practice plastic surgery, with an emphasis on breast, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery. He also offers cosmetic procedures, such as liposuction and Botox injections.
